Our construction practice is the core of the firm. We primarily represent residential and commercial property owners in disputes with their contractors involving construction defects, delay claims, loss of use claims, disgorgement claims and breach of warranty claims. We also represent general contractors who have been sued or who are seeking to be paid, including statutory late payment claims. Construction litigation is heavily expert driven and we work every single day with a team of independent industry leading construction, engineering and architectural experts to obtain the best results for our clients.
Recent Case Results
Seven-figure jury verdict following a month-long trial, including statutory waiting-time penalties, expert costs and attorney’s fees for a general contractor. Jury simultaneously awarded nothing to the owners who had claims for delays and more than half a million dollars in construction defects.
Represented owner in construction defect claim against general contractor. Settled the case on the eve of trial for just under seven-figures representing over 100% of the owner’s claimed costs of repair.
Represented adjoining homeowners whose homes were red tagged following their neighbor’s unpermitted excavation work. Seven-figure settlement on the eve of trial representing approximately 115% of the plaintiffs’ claimed costs of repair.
Representing approximately 25 homeowners in a nondisclosure and construction defect litigation against a well-known North Bay developer.
